PLATTE CITY, Mo. -- An inmate is back in jail after briefly escaping the Platte County Detention Center Saturday afternoon.
According to the Platte County Sheriff's Department, Kenneth Wilson broke out a piece of security glass, assaulted staff and climbed over the jail wall.
Wilson was immediately taken into custody by a deputy outside the jail. He was taken to an area hospital to be assessed.
Detention Center staff members were not seriously hurt in the assault.
At the time of the escape, Wilson was being held on charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
