The 41 Action News investigators have confirmed the baby, who according to authorities was seriously hurt at an unlicensed day care in Olathe, has brain injuries and loss of vision.

On Wednesday, the Johnson County District Attorney's Office announced it arrested Paige Hatfield, 25. She's charged with running an unlawful day care and battery.

According to authorities, the baby was injured while in Hatfield's care on January 31.

While the DA's office wouldn't confirm the sex or age of the baby, the 41 Action News investigators have learned the baby boy was just 4 months old at the time of the incident.

It's still not known how the boy was hurt.

Austin Schwegman, who lives next door to Hatfield, said he remembers the day of the incident.

"The mom pulled up, she rushed into the house, got pulled out three seconds later by the cops," Schwegman said. "She was a crying mess. She didn't know what was going on because she just got the call."

Schwegman said he also remembers hearing Hatfield talking about the baby's condition.

"The day care lady said that the baby's eyes rolled into the back of his head," Schwegman said.

Schwegman said it sounded like the boy was having a seizure.

The baby was rushed to Children's Mercy Hospital. He is back home with his parents.

Court records show Hatfield posted her $25,000 bond Wednesday.
