The man arrested in connection to a woman who went missing has a violent past.

On Thursday, Jessica Runions, 21, disappeared after attending a house party.

Come early Saturday morning, her burned SUV was found.

Police arrested Kylr Yust for allegedly setting it on fire.

Yust is the ex-boyfriend of another woman, Kara Kopetsky, who disappeared in 2007.

While he's not been charged in either woman's disappearance, the 41 Action News investigators found he has a violent past.

In 2011, Yust's girlfriend, six months pregnant at the time, filed a personal protection order against him. According to the police report, the woman claims Yust choked her several times in one night. She told police Yust would then punch her to keep her from passing out. At one point, she claims she lost consciousness. She also told police that Yust killed three of her cats on the night of her attack. During the ordeal, the woman also claims Yust told her he'd killed people before, adding that he said he killed ex-girlfriends out of jealousy.

Yust was placed on probation for two years in regards to the abuse. He was also charged with animal cruelty.

Later that same year, Yust went to jail for stealing from a tattoo shop.

In 2012, he was also charged with drug trafficking. He was placed on probation for three years.
