Senator Roy Blunt spent more on local TV ads than opponent Jason Kander

The Missouri Senate race was one of the most expensive in the country this year.

The 41 Action News investigators looked into data filed with Federal Communications Commission and found that Senator Roy Blunt outspent his opponent Jason Kander when it comes to local television ads.

Sen. Blunt paid for more than 3,800 spots, spending more than $1.7 million at television stations in Kansas City.

Kander's ads flashed across television screens in Kansas City about 2,100 times. His campaign spent just over $1 million on the ads.
