KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City barbecue aficionados know this: when a Joe’s Kansas City craving hits on a Sunday, you’re out of luck.
That’s not the case for Super Bowl Sunday, though.
Joe’s KC, which is traditionally closed on Sundays, announced Monday it will be open ahead of game time on Feb. 7.
The restaurant said in order to meet demand, it will be open for dine-in, carryout and curbside services from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all three Kansas City locations.
Joe’s KC said the COVID-19 pandemic was a factor in its decision.
“We have a little bit of a feel for business from last year. But this year with more fans watching from home, it has increased our carryout and catering business significantly. So, to get as much bbq to fans for the game, we decided this was the best way to meet the demand,” said Amanda Accurso, Joe’s KC director of operations.
Joe’s was open on Sundays for a period of time earlier in the pandemic but had since stopped those operations.
