KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Johnson County announced plans Thursday to streamline some residential services.
The Board of County Commissioners voted to create a new Treasury, Taxation and Vehicles Department, which combines parts of the Treasury and Financial Management Department with part of the Records and Tax Administration Department.
Services not transferred to the new department will revert to the new Financial Management and Administration Department.
The recording deeds, managing land and property records, mapping services, calculating and distributing property taxes, vehicle titling and registration, and the county’s banking services and investment portfolio will be among the services and duties assigned to the Treasury, Taxation and Vehicles Department.
Tom Franzen will serve as the new department’s director.
