KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Junior Achievement of Greater KC will expand its career-development program and innovation center.
The organization announced Monday that it plans to open its Youth Learning Lab at Northwood Shopping Center, 2844 West 47th Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, this fall. The 20,000-square-foot space will offer “hands-on learning,” according to a news release, with three new programs and experiences – JA Biztown, JA Career Exploration Center and JA Innovation Center.
The programs will allow youth to “manage a career, become a Kansas City consumer and learn to be an engaged citizen,” according to the release.
Megan Sturges Stanfield, Junior Achievement of Greater KC president and CEO, said in the release that the learning lab will help prepare students for success.
“The new facility will inspire our region’s greatest asset, our children, to dream big, explore opportunities for career and business ownership in our region, and fulfill their greatest potential,” she said.
More than $4 million has been raised through private contributions, and the public phase of fundraising is underway.
