EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. — Some Kansas City metro farmers are featured on a new website that highlights local farms with delivery options for consumers.

Farmsthataredelivering.com allows customers to select the city closest to them to see a list of several farms in the area.

Be Whole Again Farm in Excelsior Springs is on the list for its sale of milk, eggs and meat. Owner Rachel Moser told 41 Action News demand is growing when it comes to deliveries.

"We definitely saw an influx," she said. "We sold out of all of our beef and pork within the first two weeks."

Moser said this is a way consumers can get their food without going to the grocery store or farmers market as people may be weary during the pandemic.

"People like the convenience," Moser said. "It saves them time, and time is money for a lot of people."

River Watch Beef in Kansas also is on the website. They have been around for about 15 years, specializing in grass-fed beef.

"It’s a godsend for both the small producers because we don’t have the marketing budget," River Watch Beef owner Chris Kovac said, "because it’s really hard for us to get the word out."

The company started delivery service about four years ago and served a few hundred people monthly. That number has reached more than 1,000 during the pandemic.

"We rely on family and friends," Kovac said, "and so we’re still in the early-stage business. So I actually do all of the deliveries, and we’re actually looking at hiring some additional delivery drivers."

These ag-producers hope the deliveries continue to rise, helping out small, family owned farms.
