KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Comets are on their way to the playoffs Thursday and the team is ready.

"I'm feeling good," Comets player and Kansas City native Kevin Ellis said. "You know, this is why you play the game."

Through the dribbles, kicks and drills, the indoor soccer team is ready for a win.

"You play for the big games," Ellis said. "We made it tough on ourselves during the season, but we put all that work in so now we can enjoy it and have some fun and hopefully make a run at it."

The Comets have been around for nine years and this is the eighth time they'll be playing Milwaukee in the first round of playoffs.

"Milwaukee's a tough team. I have all the respect for them but this is playoff time," Coach Kim Roentved said. "We beat them once, so we know we can beat them again.

Ellis said it's always an exciting time to play in front of family and friends.

"It's what they want, it's what I want. To have the support, your friends and family, I mean you can't pay for that," Ellis said. "So to be here and enjoying soccer as much as I am at the moment, I wouldn't trade it for the world."

The Comets will play Milwaukee at Silverstein Arena at 7:35 p.m. For ticket information, click here.
