KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Earlier this week, hundreds of people found out they're losing their jobs after it was announced Harley-Davidson’s Kansas City plant will be closing.

Meanwhile, several other companies are looking to hire new employees in the Kansas City area.

Companies such as Honeywell are using a new tool in the hiring process. It's called the Virtual Career Fair.

"We are able to see the talent and determine what their needs are and if they're going to be a good fit for us," said Lakeesha Scott, Senior Human Resource Specialist at Honeywell.

All without having to come on-site for an in-person interview.

"There's opportunity for applicants to be able to upload information and actually have some virtual communication," said Scott.

When you visit the site, you’ll find virtual booths from employers and a number of openings that need to be filled immediately.

This is the first time Honeywell has used the Virtual Career Fair. The company is looking to hire 400 new employees by the end of the year.

Hiring Companies Include:

Honeywell

7th Street Casino

Aldi

Aramark

Balderston Auto Group

Deluxe

Entercom

Grainger

The Sheet Metal Workers #2

The Kansas City Virtual Career Fair is going on now through Feb. 18.
