Kansas City couple that lost engagement ring gets do-over on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The couple that lost their engagement ring during a proposal in Loose Park got a do-over on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Tuesday night.

Seth Dixon took his girlfriend, Ruth Salas, to Loose Park to ask her to marry him, according to a post on wedding photographer Staci Dabney’s Facebook page.

When Dixon went to grab the ring, it fell out of his hands, through a tiny crack in the boards of the bridge, and into the pond below.

On Tuesday night, the couple got a second try.

Kimmel brought them out of the audience and onto the stage at his show. The couple thought they were in Los Angeles for a 20/20 interview.

Kimmel told them, “No, you’re not actually. We made that up. There’s no 20/20 interview. This is what you’re here for.”

Instead, Kimmel gave them a chance for a proposal re-do with a custom-built set and a brand new ring.
