Fire crews are investigating after a Kansas City Fire Department unit was involved in a wreck Tuesday afternoon.
The unit was dispatched on an apartment fire call just before 1:30 p.m. While responding to the call, the unit was involved in a wreck near 17th and Cypress.
The first fire crews on scene ordered five ambulances to respond to the intersection.
A woman and three children were in the car that was involved in the collision. The woman was not hurt and the children showed no visible injuries, but were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
No firefighters were injured.
