Kansas City firefighters battle intense heat, flames at house fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One person was arrested in connection to a house fire that shot flames in the air for nearly an hour Friday afternoon.

Fire crews were called out just after 4 p.m. to the 5900 block of Manchester.

First crews on scene aggressively battled the fire, but the fire had spread inside the home, forcing firefighters to fight the house from outside.

Police were also dispatched to the scene after firefighters reported the homeowner was unruly when they arrived.

Someone at the home was arrested.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
