KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police said a 3-year-old girl reported missing overnight was found safe late Friday morning.

Noriyah King was last seen Thursday night around 7 p.m. in the area of East 38th Street and Highland Avenue.

She was found at a residence in KCMO, police said.

"I thank God for bringing her home safely and whoever had her and kept her safe at whatever house it was, I want to say thank you," a family member said.

The circumstances of her disappearance were unclear, though police launched an extensive search.

KCPD said the department employed K9s, drones, detectives and assistance from the FBI, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department in the search.

Police took Noriyah’s mother into custody as they conducted a child endangerment investigation, but she was released later in the day after KCPD found “no elements of any criminal activity that could be established.”
