KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Just like the snow, donations are falling at local food pantries across the Kansas City metro area.
The Kansas City Rescue Mission has reached capacity. For the past several weeks, the mission has been serving over 100 meals during breakfast and dinner.
"We always prepare the meal for 120 people for night time because a lot of people come in," said Charlie Kampfer with Kansas City Rescue Mission Cook.
More people means more food and inventory is running low.
"The winter months really take a toll on our resources," said Juliann Hansen with Kansas City Rescue Mission.
KCRM turned to social media for help. They're asking the public to donate milk, bread, eggs and meats.
"It's important for the donations because donations are what runs this place," said Kampfer.
Monetary donations can be made online. Food donations can be dropped off at 1520 Cherry Street.
