The Kansas City streetcar is on track to extend its route across Kansas City.
Wednesday a judge ruled to allow a mail-in ballot to ask voters if the city should establish a transportation development district. This district would fund the streetcar extension to the plaza. However, the expansion is just in the early stages.
The judge's decision allows a series of elections that will start in 2017. Those elections will allow voter approval to create the taxing district and to vote on the increased taxes that will help expand the streetcar route. If you are a business or property owner along the possible expansion click here for more information.
