Nineteen veterans made the transition from military service to the private sector Friday at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center.
The veterans are from Fort Leavenworth and took part in the Kauffman FastTrac program. The program helps these veterans transition from the military to civilian life and gives them the skills to open their own business.
Kansas City Mayor Sly James delivered remarks during the ceremony.
More than 700 military leaders retire or leave active service from Fort Leavenworth each year.
CTLand the Kauffman Foundation are working as co-sponsors to offer the Kauffman FastTrac program to veterans.
