KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City’s famous Western Auto sign has had an on-again, off-again relationship with light.
After a handful of dark years, the condominium association in charge of the building announced this week a plan to repair the sign and turn it back on.
The work, which includes reinstalling a catwalk behind the sign and installation of LED lights, is expected to be complete by mid-to-late summer 2018.
The condo association has been working since at least 2016 to raise money to cover the costs of the repair.
