KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With the primary election just days away, all 11 candidates seeking to snag one of two tickets for June’s general election to be the next mayor of Kansas City, Missouri are racing to the finish line.
On Tuesday, April 2, voters in Kansas City will chose between the candidates. The top two vote-getters will advance to the June 18 general election. The winner of that race will replace outgoing Mayor Sly James.
In this week’s 41 Files podcast, host Taylor Hemness is joined by reporters Cat Reid and Steven Dial to talk about their recent project, Coffee with the Candidates. The project featured sit-down interviews with 10 of the 11 candidates and included questions about many of the important issues facing voters in Kansas City.
You can read and watch those interviews on our Coffee with the Candidates website.
The 11th candidate did not respond to repeated requests for an interview as part of the project.
