KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Department of Labor is warning of a phishing scheme reaching Kansans through text message.
Kansans are receiving texts about unemployment errors or asking them to answer a questionnaire.
KDOL says no one should click on the links in the text messages and should delete the messages immediately.
They also want to remind Kansans that KDOL will never ask for a Social Security number via text message or email.
An investigation into the texts is underway.
Anyone who received one of the fraudulent messages can report it online.
