KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An anti-violence group in Kansas City, Missouri, said Friday the community as a whole needs to do better in addressing issues related to the death of George Floyd.

Rosilyn Temple with KC Mother’s in Charge said her heart goes out to Floyd’s mother.

Temple lost her son to gun violence.

"My heart goes out to their mother who lost her son," Temple said. “I grieve with her as a supporter and we stand with her. We understand the pain of losing a child.”

Temple said Kansas City has its own problems too, citing the 67 homicides reported so far in 2020.
