KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A golf tournament in Kansas City, Missouri, raised money on Saturday for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Chris Buescher, general manager at Minor Park Golf Course and co-founder of the 2020 Support our Wounded Veterans Golf Tournament, said the nonprofit fills a gap in services for military veterans..
“When these soldiers get home their fight is really far from over,” Buescher said. “They obviously suffer from physical injuries."
He also said mental illness “still follows” veterans.
The sold-out event is expected to raise up to $25,000.
Those interested in donating can do so on the tournament’s fundraising page.
