MIAMI — Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas is a long time Chiefs fan.
41 Action News Today anchor Lindsay Shively caught up with him at a Chiefs pep rally and asked what he’ll feel like waking up on a Super Bowl Sunday that features the Chiefs.
“Oh my God, so step one, I’m going to make sure I actually get to sleep, like, on time," he said. "And because I want to wake up, I want to remember everything."
He went on to talk about how surreal the experience continues to be.
“Then I think (Sunday) morning I’m gonna be like, 'Oh my God, it's real. The Chiefs are really in the Super Bowl, and I think we’re really gonna win the Super Bowl.' So, I will be kind of unnaturally nervous, even though it's not like I’m actually catching or throwing a ball tomorrow, but — look, look — we’re just gonna be excited," he said.
Mayor Lucas will attend the big game along with San Francisco Mayor London Breed.
