KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ahead of The Kansas City Royals’ opening day, the streetcar received a makeover.
Friday, the Royals and the KC Streetcar Authority debuted a new wrap.
One side of the wrap features Whit Merrifield, pictured sliding into a base.
The other side shows Adalberto Mondesi sliding into a base.
Each side features the Royals’ 2019 slogan, “Always Royal” in a “lenticular” material, which allows the word “Royal” to transform as the streetcar moves.
“Royals” on Merrifield’s side transforms to “Driven,” and “Tough.”
On Mondesi’s side, “Royals” changes to read “Loyal,” and “Moving.”
