The KC Streetcar is back up and running after service was delayed Wednesday afternoon.
Donna Mandelbaum with the KC Streetcar Authority said service was suspended around 11:30 a.m. while crews investigated an outside electrical issue. Service resumed around 3:15 p.m.

“You know, everything is new here, we’ve actually have seen lots of great ridership in these last three weeks so even on Monday when we had a distribution of service, we carried nearly 2,000 riders. So I think Kansas City is being patient with us and we really appreciate that,” said Mandelbaum.
Buses ran the route for KC Streetcar riders while service was delayed.
This is the second time this week service has been delayed. On Monday, service was temporarily suspended after a track switch issue at Union Station. The streetcar was back in service Monday night.
Streetcar riders had mixed emotions on the delayed service.
“I’m disappointed because I’m a hard sell as far as this goes anyway, so I’m kind of waiting for them to prove to me that this is a good idea,’’ said streetcar rider Susan Turned.
“Hey, I break down two times every week, so how can I blame the streetcar?” said streetcar rider Joe Heyen.
