KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, man was sentenced Monday to 94 months in federal prison.
Nikko D. Pike, 38, pleaded guilty to one county of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, admitting that in April 2017 he “was involved in a domestic disturbance with a woman,” according to a news release.
In that incident, Pike fired a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson, resulting in the victim receiving medical attention at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
“When officers arrived, they saw Pike with a gun protruding from his pocket,” the release stated. “Pike barricaded himself in an apartment before surrendering to police. Police found the pistol hidden a child’s bedroom closet.”
Pike was prohibited from having a firearm due to a 2009 felony conviction.
