KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Kansas, are investigating the rape of a 2-year-old Friday night by a family friend.
KCK Police Chief Terry Zeigler said via social media the victim and other siblings were left at home with a friend of the family that evening at a residence near South Coy Street and Lowell Avenue.
The mother discovered injuries to the 2-year-old girl Saturday morning and took her to Children's Mercy Hospital, where an exam confirmed there was evidence of rape and tests revealed she had a sexually transmitted disease.
The other siblings were not injured, and the investigation is ongoing.
