KCPD locates teen who escaped custody during hospital evaluation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police said a missing 19-year-old who is considered dangerous has been found and is safe.

William Stafford Jr. went missing around 3:30 p.m. on Monday. He escaped custody at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, where he was taken for a mental health evaluation, and made his way from there to KCMO.

Stafford had last been seen in the area of East 13th Street and White Avenue, but police announced Friday that he had been located and was safe.
