KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Kansas City, Missouri, police detectives went to the hospital after an SUV ran a red light and struck their vehicle Thursday morning, police said.
The detectives were driving northbound on Holmes Road, going through 18th Street on a green light, when a Chevy Tahoe traveling westbound on 18th Street ran the red light and hit their vehicle, police said.
The Chevy hit the detectives' vehicle in the front passenger door.
The two detectives took themselves to an area hospital for medical treatment, according to police.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. Impairment is not considered a factor in the crash.
