UPDATE, May 7 | The woman who was shot died from her injuries. She was identified as 18-year-old Mauricia Strother.
Police said Strother died Wednesday.
ORIGINAL STORY, May 3 | A woman is suffering from life-threatening injuries after a shooting near East 80th Street and Michigan Avenue.
Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to the call around 5 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a woman inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported her to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Detectives are working to develop suspect information and canvassing the area for any witnesses. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for any evidence.
