KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Students in Kansas City Public Schools have the chance to receive a free backpack with school supplies on Saturday.
It's called "Summerfest: Drive Thru Edition." From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., families can pick up these supplies at Southeast High School.
These are for families that have a student in KCPS. There will be immunizations and other student health services at the event.
"We are very committed here in Kansas City Public Schools to make sure we are meeting the needs, all of the needs of our students and our families," said Ray Weikal, Public Relations & Marketing Manager for KCPS. "So, that means we are going to extraordinary measures to help them in any possible way we can."
