KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Department of Labor warned of a new unemployment scam on Wednesday.

Fake Facebook pages are being created under the guise that the people behind them are KDOL employees, according to KDOL. Those people are then commenting on posts about unemployment.

KDOL said that anyone who has communicated with such pages should stop immediately, take screenshots of the conversations and report the profiles to Facebook, as well as the KDOL fraud team at KDOL.Fraud@ks.gov.

Any communication from KDOL would come through an official email address or phone number, KDOL said.
