KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Continued rainfall and flooding has once again delayed the opening of the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.
Owner Pete Howey said Monday there will be no races held at the track until mid-July at the earliest.
Water is nearly 6 feet deep in some areas, Howey said. He planned to go to the speedway later Monday to inspect the facility.
Howey had hoped to open the speedway for the season in late May or early June after a levee broke on the Missouri River in late March, flooding the speedway.
