KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Lawrence, Kansas, said two teenagers were hospitalized Friday after being shot outside of the Holcom Park Recreation Center.
An 18-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and a 16-year-old is in serious condition after the incident, which was reported just before 4 p.m. to the 2700 block of West 27th Street, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
The shootings happened outside the rec center.
Witnesses provided police with a description of the suspect vehicle, which was stopped by Lawrence police and the Kansas Highway Patrol. Two persons of interest were taken into custody and authorities aren't searching for anyone else.
