KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lawrence police say a man stole money on Thursday afternoon from a Check Into Cash store and then fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
Police said around 1:40 p.m., a man wearing sunglasses walked into the store at 2108 W. 27th St.
He told an employee he had a gun and demanded money, according to a news release from police.
The suspect then ran from the store. On Friday, police said 26-year-old Joeseph Michael Splechter, of Lawrence, had turned himself in after his family saw his image on social media.
He was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, police said.
Police said all of the money was accounted for or recovered.
