Nearly 130 homes in the county were damaged, with 44 of them completely destroyed.

An additional 159 “accessory structures” such as out buildings and an industrial center, were totally destroyed.

The storm, which earlier struck locations just south of Lawrence, was estimated to have winds up to 170 miles per hour and was more than a mile wide at times.

The storm later reformed as an EF-2 tornado near Kearney, Missouri, damaging a handful of homes and buildings.
