KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lee’s Summit police are investigating after shell casings were found Wednesday in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant.

A citizen reported hearing shots fired to an LSPD officer who was on patrol around 3:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Northeast Woods Chapel Road.

“Several spent shell casings” were located in a Burger King parking lot, according to a news release.

“Witnesses and surveillance video indicate that an occupant of a blue Ford Mustang shot at the occupant(s) of a white BMW,” the release said. “Both vehicles fled westbound on Northeast Woods Chapel Road.”
