A crash between a car and an ATA bus has left at least one person with life-threatening injuries on Tuesday evening.
The crash happened at Independence Avenue and The Paseo in Kansas City, Missouri. A spokeswoman with the ATA said the bus was headed to the ATA bus barn from Zona Rosa. The car was driving west on Independence Avenue, and the bus was driving south on The Paseo. Police said the car had a red light and the driver slowed but didn't stop. The bus hit the car on the passenger side.
A passenger in the car, a 16-year-old, suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car, a 20-year-old, suffered moderate injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to police.
The bus was empty except for the driver.
