KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A member of the Little Rock Nine will give a presentation Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri.

Truman Medical Centers/University Health is hosting a talk with Elizabeth Eckford, one of the nine African-American students who helped desegregate an Arkansas high school in 1957.

The event will be held at noon on Feb. 19 in the main lobby of the Health Sciences District campus, 2301 Holmes St.

Eckford and the other eight students received a Congressional Gold Medal in 1999 for their actions.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the Little Rock Nine event helped desegregate the school in 1967.
