RAYTOWN, Mo. — It was lights, camera, action Wednesday in Raytown, where Sentry, a Wisconsin-based insurance company, filmed its new commercial.

It took some convincing to bring the shoot to the Kansas City area.

"We present to them that we have worked here many times and this is kind of an unknown untapped market," Nathan Kincaid, who works for RW2 Production in Kansas City, said. "Most people think New York or LA, maybe San Francisco or Chicago, but we live here. We have worked many jobs here."

Sentry liked the idea and approved the shoot, which relied primarily on local workers, including the directors, brothers Lyndon and Lindsey.

The Wade Brothers are from Kansas City and said their hometown is a perfect place to shoot.

"Locations are wonderful, people are easy to work with and we find a lot of efficiencies," Lyndon said. "Once people have worked here once, it's not a hard sell to get them back."

The Wade Brothers also hired local with more than 50 people helping with the shoot, all from the metro.

"We love KC," Kincaid said. "We're willing to help do what we can to convince people that you can do these kinds of projects."

The Wade Brothers said the commercial should encourage like-minded directors to want to shoot here, too.

"We find that we get top-level production here and really more productions should consider, which they are. especially with the growth and the opportunity that's happened in Kansas City in recent years," Lyndon said.

Filming will continue throughout the week.
