KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On Season 15 of The Voice you may get to see a local face. Rachel Byerley, from Johnson County, Kansas, made it through the audition process and will be heading to the blind auditions in LA.

"I'm really excited, also very nervous and anxious," she said. "I can't wait for it to happen and I"m just really glad I have this opportunity in life right now."

Byerley has auditioned before, but this is her first time making it through to the Blind Auditions where she'll sing for The Voice judges Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

"If any of them turn I'l be like, 'Thank you!', but I'm very excited for Kelly Clarkson. I like her a lot and she won last season so that's cool," Byerley said. "Adam Levine is pretty cool as well so I'd go after him, too."

Byerley found her love of music through choir class at Olathe East High School.

"I was actually an athlete my whole life and then sophomore year I had to take a music class and so I just said, 'Alright I'll take choir," she said. "My director said, 'Hey, you can sing!' I've been taking music seriously ever since then."

Byerley, now 19 years old, has the full support of her parents and three older brothers.

"I'm adopted from Russia actually," she said. "When I was 9 months old, my parents adopted me and moved me here. I lived here most of my life, moved to Iowa for two years and then moved back here because Kansas is pretty great in my opinion! I have three older brothers that look after me because I'm the only girl and I'm adopted so it's like I'm the princess of the family."

Now, she spends a lot of time writing her own music that she posts to her Sound Cloud to share with others.

"I have a voice and I want to share my voice with the World," she said. "I feel like I have a message to deliver through my music that I'm writing and I'm excited to share it."

Season 15 of The Voice premieres Monday at 7 p.m.
