KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rockhurst High School head football coach Tony Severino announced Tuesday he plans to retire after the 2019 season.

Severino has held the position since 1983.

During his more than 35 years as head coach, Severino tallied 338 wins and seven titles in 11 championship game appearances.

Severino first joined the coaching ranks in 1970 in Cleveland before moving to Kansas City in 1971, according to the school.

The school has organized a search process for Severino’s replacement, which will begin in September.
