Louisburg School District mourns loss of middle school principal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Suzanne Reedy, the principal at Louisburg Middle School, passed away suddenly Sunday at the age of 54.

Reedy was attending a scheduled doctor's appointment at St. Joseph Medical Center when she passed out and was placed in an induced coma to lower her body temperature, according to the Miami County Republic. The efforts did not save the educator.

Counselor were on hand at the school Monday as a resource for teachers and students.

Reedy was a Louisburg High School graduate and grew up in and worked in the area.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jon, and their three children.

The visitation for Reedy will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the same church.
