Macabre Cinema isn't dropping clowns despite recent reports

The Macabre Cinemain Kansas City's West Bottoms will continue its scary clown scene despite reports of creepy clowns in the real world hurting and scaring people in a bad way.

Amber Annett Bequeaith is vice president of Full Moon Productions which runs four haunted houses in the West Bottoms including Macabre Cinema.

"Clowns have always been used in motion pictures and haunted houses to scare people -- along with vampires and werewolves and snakes," said Bequeaith.

While creepy clowns across the country are doing bad things, Bequeaith explains that her clowns at Macabre Cinema have undergone background checks, and are highly trained to scare people in the right way.

The clown scene is from the 1980's movie, "The Killer Clowns From Outer Space."

"When you walk into our haunted 1930's movie scene you become the victim inside the movie sets," said Bequeaith.

The West Bottoms Haunted Houses are open on Friday and Saturday night this week; but next week they will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through Halloween.
