HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — The man accused of murdering Jessica Runions and Kara Kopetsky pleaded not guilty to his charges.

Kylr Yust was arraigned in Cass County court Monday morning.

He appeared for just a few minutes with his defense attorneys.

Yust is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abandoning a corpse.

Kopetsky went missing in 2007, and Runions in 2007. The remains of both women were found in the same area in April 2017.

The courtroom was filled with family and friends of Runions and Kopetsky.

Yust will be back in court for a motions hearing on July 16 at 1:30 p.m.
