KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A robbery suspect led police on a chase Monday night with speeds exceeding 100 mph.

The chase began about 10 p.m. near East 34th Street and Indiana Avenue in Kansas City.

The driver sped from police in a black Dodge Charger and spent most of the chase without the car's headlights on.

He raced around east Kansas City neighborhoods at speeds exceeding 80 miles per hour.

The suspect tried to elude officers on Interstates 435 and 70, as well as Bruce R. Watkins Drive. He pushed the Dodge to 100 miles an hour trying to get away from police.

With police still in pursuit, he stopped the car at East 24th Terrace and Bales Avenue.

He exited the vehicle and tried to run away, but was quickly arrested.

There were no reports of accidents along the chase route.
