KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Prosecutors charged a Kansas City, Missouri, man for his part in a triple shooting Thursday in Kansas City, Missouri.
Darcell Clark, 28, faces three counts of armed criminal action, two counts of assault, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.
Officers investigating the sound of gunshots Thursday afternoon near East 56th Street and Bellefontaine Avenue and found a chaotic scene.
The initial shooting took place near a residence in the 5600 block of Wabash Avenue.
Two shooting victims were found in a car near East 57th Street and Prospect Avenue.
A victim, a girl under the age of 10 who was in a house on Wabash Avenue, was taken to a hospital by relatives.
Clark was arrested a short time after the shooting, according to court documents. He told police someone shot into his house, striking the girl in the shoulder.
After the shooting, Clark and other people in the house drove the victim to a hospital.
The other two victims told police a different story, according to a probable cause statement.
One victim said Clark walked up to the victim's car, yelled at him and opened fire.
The victim said he returned fire before Clark went back to his house, grabbed a rifle and fired again at the two victims at the car.
Police found an AR-15 rifle and revolver in Clark's home after the shooting.
