KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 47-year-old man face one charge of driving while intoxicated after he struck a Kansas City, Missouri, police patrol SUV on Thursday night.
According to a KCPD statement, police said the man was riding an electronic scooter on the sidewalk shortly before 10 p.m. near West 14th Street and Main Street.
A police sergeant on patrol noticed the man driving erratically, but before he could do anything, the sergeant heard a “thud” on his SUV.
When he got out, he found the scooter driver sitting on the ground next to the overturned scooter.
The man, who suffered a cut to his face, told police he had recently consumed four beers before hopping on the scooter.
Police arrested the man, who was later released pending further information.
