Man dies after shooting near 61st & Tracy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Shortly before midnight Saturday, a black male later identified as Dajuan J. Alvarez, 30, was brought to Research Medical Center in Brookside and died.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department’s homicide unit was called in to investigate and determined that Alvarez had been shot in the 6100 block of Tracy Avenue before he was driven to the hospital.

Detectives and crime scene investigators gathered information at that scene and are seeking witnesses to the murder.
