KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is dead following an early morning shooting in Raytown, Missouri.
Raytown Police were called to the 10700 block of East 59th Street around 6:19 a.m. for reports of shots fired and a crashed vehicle.
When officers arrived at the address they found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a crashed car.
According to police, they were told that the victim was shot by another man who fled the scene before the car crashed. A woman was also in the vehicle when the shooting happened, but she jumped from the moving vehicle and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was not shot.
There have been no arrests in the incident and no one is in custody.
There was a report of a man shooting at someone in the 6100 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard, not far from the crash. Officers were unable to located any victim or suspect, but continue to investigate.
